New writing
Hello everyone! This is my first blog post.
Even though I have done a lot of things in my life so far, I am a creative person. I entered my first ever story in a competition which was run in conjunction with a website called The Write Practise. It was called Race Against Time, and it was about a disabled man who had to get urgent medical supplies to a hospital, but he has to get there before a certain time. I have just written my first story for the site. It is called The Choice and it is romance, which isn’t normally my genre (my new motto in life is Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway), and am editing it to make it even better. Apologies for a bit of sexual content – it is a love story after all! There is quite a lot of dialogue in there, which is much better than just telling the reader what the characters are doing.
I am also adding a chapter to my next story, Murder In Paradise (disclaimer – not to be confused with the BBC1 series ‘Death In Paradise.’) Apologies for a bit of sexual content – it is a love story after all! There is quite a lot of dialogue in there, which is much better than just telling the reader what the characters are doing – there’s a great writing lesson there – Know, don’t tell. Not just Show, don’t tell!
The book that I am writing, The Winning Ticket, will be explained in another blog post. This is my most challenging work to date!
